Lead Meaningful Change in Disability Inclusion
The WIDE Leaders Programme is a free, expert‑supported initiative for medium and large employers based in Ireland who want to take a structured, evidence‑based approach to disability inclusion — and turn insight into action.
Delivered by AHEAD in partnership with Employers for Change, the programme supports a small cohort of organisations each year to step back, assess where they are now, and plan practical, sustainable improvements across their organisation. What the Programme Offers
Over a 10‑month period, participating organisations receive:
- Expert guidance and training to complete a whole‑organisation self‑review using the WIDE Framework
- Peer learning and shared problem‑solving with a group of other committed employers
- Support to develop a WIDE Improvement Plan plotting practical steps to advance disability inclusion across the organisation
- Recognition for nominated representatives as WIDE Leaders on completion
This is a practical programme designed to build internal capability that supports a more sustainable approach to inclusion.
Who the Programme Is For
The WIDE Leaders Programme is suitable for:
- Medium and large employers
- Organisations based in Ireland
- Public or private sector employers
- Organisations at any stage of their disability inclusion journey
What matters most is organisational commitment, senior buy‑in, and a willingness to engage in an honest self‑review with colleagues across the organisation.
Places are limited to 15 organisations.
Key Dates
- Applications open: 6 May 2026
- Online Q&A session: 11:00–12:00, 26 May 2026 – (see below for registration)
- Application deadline: 10 June 2026
- Programme commences: September 2026
Steps Your Organisation Can Take to Learn More and Apply
- Watch the introductory video about the WIDE Framework to get a clear sense of the framework and online platform.
- Download and read the WIDE Leaders Programme Application Guide, and consult with relevant colleagues to confirm interest and organisational readiness.
- Get your questions answered by emailing wide@ahead.ie or registering for the online Q&A session taking place from 11:00–12:00 on 26 May 2026.
- Complete the online application form by 10 June 2026. Before applying, we recommend reviewing the Appendix of the Application Guide to see the questions you’ll be asked to answer
